Electric shisha head
How it works
An electric shisha head is placed on the stem instead of the classic head. Instead of glowing charcoal, heating elements warm the tobacco. Power is supplied by a battery. Normal shisha tobacco is used.
Components, using the example from the database
The ShishaX VOLTA is currently the only electric device in the database. According to the manufacturer, the following applies to it:
- Heating: two heating zones, top and side
- Preheating: around 8 minutes
- Battery: 5,000 mAh, replaceable, charging via USB-C
- Tobacco chamber: ceramic chamber for around 10 g of tobacco, which lies between two metal screens
- Scope of delivery: device, battery, 2 ceramic chambers, 10 screens, USB-C cable, seals 16/18 mm (without power adapter)
Differences from the charcoal head
| Charcoal head | Electric head | |
|---|---|---|
| Heat source | glowing charcoal | heating elements, battery |
| Preparation | light the charcoal and let it glow through | preheat the device |
| Temperature | via number and position of the coals | adjustable on the device |
| Consumables | charcoal, foil or heat management device | screens, ceramic chambers as wear parts |
Care
Ceramic chambers and screens are rinsed out after cooling down. The battery is removed before cleaning and must not get wet. Batteries do not belong in household waste.
Distinction from the e-shisha
An electric head heats tobacco. An e-shisha, by contrast, vaporises a liquid and belongs to the e-cigarettes. Under the German Youth Protection Act, tobacco and e-shishas may not be supplied to minors.
